At this particular time I'm starting to read articles from the New York Times and get into the habit of exploring my thoughts about different topics related to health. This may be an advantage for me, because I plan on being in the nursing field toward the near future.
Nostrums: A Bit of Marijuana Is Found to Ease Pain
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/07/health/research/07nostrum.html?ref=research Since marijuana is illegal people shouldn’t be using it, but in a case like this it actually can be helpful. I know that researchers say that weed kills your brain cells, but my biggest question is how. To my logical understanding marijuana is a herb. It can be used for people who have a prescription, because they have cataracts and now its been proven that it relieves pain. In some states people are trying to get weed legalized; even if people can't get a prescription, I realized that they sell a imitating version in local coner stores, but is it legal and will it still “ease the pain” and give you the same side effect is the real question. In this situation, they turned a bad substance and made it for good use toward those you are in pain.
F.D.A. Unveils Proposed Graphic Warning Labels for Cigarette Packs
While reading this article it gave me a flashback of what I heard on the radio just a few weeks ago. 97.9 the box was talking about this same topic and listeners were calling in leaving their feedback about the subject. As I sat back and listened a lot of people were referring to how its not going to stop them from smoking. People aren't going to stop smoking just because a higher authority puts a couple of labels to show the risk. Although I appreciate the fact of them trying to build the awarness about cigarettes, its not going to put a halt on the imput of useage towards tobaccao. People know the risk of AID's and other dangerous STD's, but they still have unprotected intercourse with no problem. If that’s the case why don’t they start putting graphic labels of what STD’s can do to you on condom rappers or even young mother who are sad because their pregnant. Maybe that’ll arise a lot of controversy as well, do you think is there a difference or not.
Behavior: Too Much Texting Is Linked to Other Problems
Who knew that technologies could cause so much contraversay. I think its time for people to start taking full responsibility for their own actions and not trying to to the blame on other people or appliances for this matter. Everytime I look aound I see different articles or news reports about how some type of updated sources has contributed to the inconvences of a person. I don’t undersatand how people can let a small privilege influence what they do and how they do it. Athough I text and love to talk on the phone I wouldn’t let it dominate my mind to make such a senceless mistake of doing drugs or having risky sex. Although the article didn’t state that all people do this, I just think that no one should do it.
